Jakarta – 28 November 2017 – Kohler, a global leader in the manufacturing of kitchen and bath products, and one of the oldest privately-held companies in the United States is building the first manufacturing plant in Indonesia. The factory is planned to start production in 2019to manufacture vitreous china products that will cater to Indonesia customers and market. Kohler views Indonesia as a fast growing strategic market and believes in the potential of the Indonesian market.

We are very excited to build a new factory in Indonesia at Deltamas-Central Cikarang, one of the best locations to build a factory. This plant will serve the local market demand with the singular, high level of quality Kohler is known for, and will help to bring our services closer to our business partners and customers.” stated Larry Yuen, Group President of Kohler.
The Kohler plant will be built on20 hectares of land and will have a building size of 65,000 square meters. The full operation of this new plant targets to employ about 1000 people.
On Tuesday, 28 November 2017, Kohler will host a groundbreaking ceremony of their new manufacturing plant in Indonesia which will be inaugurated by the Indonesian Minister of Industry, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto.
As part of the company’s long-standing and strong belief in sustainability and stewardship, Kohler will also enter into a partnership with a local vocational school, SMK Ananda Mitra Industri Deltamas (AMI DELTAMAS), in the Bekasi area that was established in 1996. Kohler’s spirit of stewardship encompasses sharing our success with those around us. Kohler invests proactively in strengthening the local community with its expertise, time, services and products.
Kohler will sign a MOU with SMK Ananda Mitra Industri Deltamas (AMI DELTAMAS) to commemorate this partnership. We will lean on our expertise and knowledge to assist in developing a special curriculum on ceramics for the school. The objective is to increase the expertise and skills of the students in the school and provide other sponsorship and opportunities e.g.“train-the-trainer” session, internship and work opportunities.
Kohler is fully invested in working with the partners and community to create value and positive impact to Indonesia market and looks optimistically to future opportunities through the new manufacturing plant.
